Fluance Targets Audiophiles with Bluetooth Speaker

The world of $300/pair bookshelf speakers just got a little more crowded. Internet-based Canadian home audio company Fluance today introduced a compact Bluetooth/aptX-enabled speaker aimed at audiophiles.

The Ai60 combines a 6.5-inch woven-glass-fiber woofer and 1-inch silk-dome with a 2 x 50-watt Class D amplifier in a wood cabinet that stands 13 inches tall. The speaker is an acoustic-suspension design with a rated bandwidth of 35 Hz-20 kHz.

In addition to wireless streaming via Bluetooth/aptX, the Ai60 has analog RCA and digital optical (Toslink) inputs, a micro USB port, and subwoofer output with auto detection.

Finish options (shown above) include black, walnut, white walnut, and bamboo.
