Boutique mic company debuts new mic and trio of capsules that recall the classics.
Nashville, TN (September 24, 2018)—Getting ready for its appearance at October’s AES Convention in New York City, Luke Audio has introduced its new Gold Standard AL-Y56-AU large diaphragm, tube condenser, “bottle” microphone, which comes with three interchangeable capsules that are also available individually.
The Gold Standard AL-Y56-AU is intended to be a lower-priced counterpart to the company’s Platinum Series. The interchangeable capsules—A1AU, A2AU and A3AU—are each a classic-type reproduction with 3 micron mylar diaphragms; likewise, each is gold sputtered and hand tuned.
The AL-A1AUis a reproduction of the ck12-type capsule with a 3 micron mylar diaphragm, and is said to be smooth and natural, bright, airy, open.
Meanwhile, the AL-A2AU aims to reproduce a k67-type capsule with a 3 micron mylar diaphragm and is punchy and mid-focused, according to Luke Audio.
Lastly, the AL-A3AU looks to reproduce a k47-type capsule with a 3 micron mylar diaphragm and is intended to be full bodied, rounded and warm.
The full LA-Y56-AU Package includes the Y56 Bottle microphone, all three interchangeable capsules, power supply, a 7-pin XLR cable, wooden mic box, wooden capsule box, aluminum flight case, shock mount, windscreen and power cable.
The full package is available at $699, while the cCapsules are individually available at $199 each.
